Karwar: Large and Medium Industries and District-In-Charge Minister RV Deshpande appealed to employees of KSRTC, who are on strike, to return on duty. The strike entered second day on Tuesday.
Briefing reporters, Deshpande said that KSRTC was already under heavy loss and in spite this, government has increased the wages by 10 percent. The employees should understand this and call off strike.
As there were no government bus service people were travelling in private buses. Tempos and maxi cabs were seen operating near the bus stand.
Police had made elaborate security arrangements to prevent possible untoward incident. A police van was sanctioned in the bus stand as a precautionary measure.
