Karwar: Three police teams have been formed to trace Uttara Kannada MP Anant Kumar Hegde, said newly appointed Uttara Kannada SP Vasant Rao paatil on Wednesday. He said that one team will act in Sirsi, another in Bangalore and the third one in the other part of district. SP said that MP Anant Kumar Hegde has not been found in Sirsi yet.
It should be noted that Anant Kumar Hegde's video footage had gone viral on social and electronic media in which he was seen thrashing a doctor in a private hospital at Sirsi. Home Minister G Parmeshwar directed the police to register a suo moto case against BJP MP soon after the incident.
In his first meeting with Media people, S P Vinayak Paatil said that they sent a notice to the MP, but he did not reply, and when they visited his house in Sirsi, he was not available. "We have recorded statements of the doctors in this case and are inspecting the CCTV footages of the hospital.”
Hegde had assaulted two doctors and a staff member of the TSS Hospital in Sirsi for not treating his mother on a priority and this was captured on the CCTV cameras which were installed inside the hospital.
