Karwar: Shahana Syed, daughter of Abdul Shakoor Syed and Mumtaz Syed of Kajubhag in the taluk, has made the entire district of Uttara Kannada proud by bagging two gold medals in MSc (Physics).

At the recent 72nd Convocation held at Karnataka University in Dharwad, Shahana Syed was presented with two gold medals for her outstanding performance in the physics in MSc stream. She was honoured in the presence of State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Dr Dinkar Salonke, Director, New Delhi International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

Shahana completed her degree from Government Arts and Science Degree College in Karwar. It has been said that she used her skills to the best of her ability by participating in extracurricular activities from her childhood. Shahana has won many awards from district level and state levels.
