Karnataka Bank gets toilets built for school

Mangaluru: New toilets for boys and girls of Vidyavardhaka Sangha’s Ashok Nagar Higher Primary School were inaugurated on Monday.

These toilets were built by Karnataka Bank at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme.

Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer P. Jayarama Bhat inaugurated the toilet blocks. Incidentally, the bank had got the school building constructed in 1973 when late Sooryanarayana Adiga was the bank chairman.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhat said that it is the duty of everyone to promote education, that too in Kannada medium.

The bank is happy to continue its association with the Ashok Nagar school, he added.
