Bhatkal: "Teachers should remove inferiority complex among the students and motivate students to learn Kannada", urged the Principal of Chitrapur High School, Mamta Bhatkal, at a workshop held at Shrivalli high school on Saturday. The workshop was organised by Kannada Teachers Association and the department of BEO. "SSLC students don't take Kannada subject seriously and just wants to pass the subject which is a matter of concern for us", she said.
Mohammed Raza Manvi, president of 3rd language Kannada club, expressed his concern over the diminishing Kannada language in minority schools where students consider Kannada language as a burden.
President of First language Kannada Club and Primary School Teacher Association Taluk President, K B Madival, said that more Kannada workshops should be organised so that Kannada teachers can be motivated to move forward and help the students to achieve good results in SSLC examination. Second language Kannada club president Malappa also expressed his views.
The workshop was inaugurated by BEO office member S B Bhat. Shrivalli high school teacher Sanjay Godikar compeered the workshop and proposed vote of thanks.
The office bearers of Kannada teacher Association were selected during the program. For Kannada 1st language club: K B Madival Alvekodi as president, vice president Mamta Bhatkal, secretary Bhaskar Naik, treasurer Vijaylakshmi Hegde and Association secretary P T Chauhan.
For Kannada 2nd language club: Malappa Bhutal was chosen as president, vice president Muhammed Ilyas Sheikh, secretary Nagraj K C, honorary secretary Patrick Bales and treasurer Sharda Naik.
For 3rd language Kannada club: president Mohammed Raza Maanvi, vice-president Kalpana N. Talgeri, secretary Abdur Rasheed Honsemard and treasurer Imtiyaz Mulla Murdeshwar was selected unanimously.
