Sirsi: “Our youths, apart from inculcating self-discipline, must contribute to strengthening the country by their ‘country first’ approach,” opined Assembly Speaker Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri.
He noted this after inaugurating a computer lab and digital library, and reviewing other development works at the Government First Grade College here on Friday.
“Along with acquiring knowledge, youths must develop expert skills. They should not become completely dependent on Google for every subject,” Kageri advised.
He said that values are fast vanishing from society and people are forced to live in a vicious circle. In such a situation, youths should take the centre stage to control the situation. They should start a campaign to convey that their vote is not for sale, he said.
Dr A V Baliga College, Kumta Chief Librarian Shivanand Bulla said that their library will no more be limited to a reading center but will become a dynamic place for skill development. The digital library has elements in this regard.
