Benagluru: K B Koliwad, Congress senior MLA, on Monday filed his papers for the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

He is all set to get elected unopposed as he is the only to file the papers. The post is vacant as Kagodu Thimmappa resigned as the Speaker to become minister.

The name of Koliwad was proposed by the chief minister and law minister.

He has also given consent to occupy the post.
