MANGALURU: Taking into consideration the need to diagnose rheumatic (joint-pain) diseases at an early stage for better relief, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, Mangaluru has announced a free Joint Pain check-up camp on February 5 and 6, 2020 at its OPD.

The camp, which is to be held from 10.30am to 1.30pm on those two days, will offer patients free consultation and 40 percent off on the basic tests.

According to Dr Arifa Haleema Siddiqui, Consultant Rheumatologist at Indiana Hospital, “It is a good opportunity for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, gout, high level of ESR/osteoarthritis and other joint pains to get treated through free consultation and discount on tests.”

Indiana is equipped with the latest diagnostic techniques and advanced methodology in treatment of rheumatic musculoskeletal disorders.

Dr Yusuf Kumble, Chief Interventional Cardiologist and managing director, Indiana Hospital, observed that prevalence of rheumatologic illnesses was on the rise because of enhanced life expectancy,  modifications in lifestyle, unhygienic living conditions, environmental factors such as air pollution as well as socio-economic factors. He added, “Delay in initiation of treatment can lead to joint deformity and irreversible organ damages.

Also, the state of ongoing inflammation in the body can lead to occurrence of other serious diseases. Therefore, early diagnosis and consistent medical treatment could see a significant remission in the disease, long-term, smooth functioning of joints and muscles, as well as prevention of joint and organ damage.” For more details,  contact Indiana Hospital on 0824-2880880.
