Honnavar: Man falls from moving train, dies

Honnavar: A man lost his life after he fell from a moving train here on Manki railway track in Honnavar taluk.

The deceased is identified as Santosh Kumar M, aged 48.

The body was reported to be lying on the railway track at around 2 AM. On studying the incident, the Manki police reached the spot and with the help of local social workers Zakir Katingeri and Fahim Shingeri, the body was shifted to the Manki Government Hospital.

According to Zakir, only a fine receipt of the railway was found from the pocket of the deceased, while it was not known who he was and where he was aboard. 

With the help of the fine receipt, Manki PSI found that the man was travelling from Delhi to Trivandrum, Kerala on the Mangala Express. He was fined by the Railway official in Mathura for travelling without ticket. The receipt was found in his pocket, on the basis of which the police have carried out the investigation and obtained his name and other information.

The body is currently kept in the autopsy room at Manki Government Hospital. Further investigation is underway.
