Honnavar: A nine-year-old Aarthi Kiran Shet of Honnavar in Uttara Kannada district has been selected for the award of National Bravery, which will be given by the department of Indian child welfare, as announced by the central government.
It shall be noted that Aarthi Shet had rescued her 2-year-old brother from the ox rampage outside her house in Navilgon village in Honnavar taluk in the early 2019. With her timely action of courage, the toddler was saved. During the incident, the entire scene was recorded in the nearby installed CCTV camera. The girl received tons of applause after the footage went viral on social media platforms. The incident had also become an name on various National medias.
Around 22 children have been selected for this award from various parts of the country. Every nominated child for National Bravery award will be conferred with a medal, cash prize of 1,00,000 rupees, a book voucher worth 10,000 rupees and a certified of bravery.
Aarthi Shet along with other nominees will be receiving the award at the Republic Day parade in Rajpath on 26th January in Delhi.
