Mangaluru: Days are not far when the Central government led by BJP will levy Goods and Services Tax (GST) on coffins and firewood used for cremation and burial, said JD(S) Dakshina Kannada district committee former president Mohammed Kunhi Vittal.

Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, he said, “The common man was silent when GST was imposed on certain goods but is unhappy when it is imposed on milk and other goods consumed daily.”

“We will soon hold a protest across the state to criticise the Central government’s move to impose GST,” he added.
