Mangaluru: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) have seized 752 gm of gold, valued at Rs 38,20,160 from two male passengers who arrived here from Muscat.

The officials intercepted two male passengers, hailing from Bhatkal, who had arrived here from Muscat on Thursday. They were trying to smuggle the gold, concealed in five oval shaped packets inside their bodies, a Customs release said here on Friday.

The gold was seized and two separate cases have been registered for the offences. Further investigation is in progress, it said.
