Kumta: A gas tanker toppled on National Highway-66 near town's Gibb circle in Kumta on Tuesday. Fortunately, the major tragedy was averted as the tanker was empty

During the incident, the tanker was moving towards Mangaluru from Goa. Sources said that the driver received minor injuries in the incident but the traffic breakdown was seen for hours on the highway.

As the information spread, the Kumta police personnel rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic by providing one way alternate routes.
