Four Sirsi civic workers set for Singapore study trip

Sirsi: It is indeed a good news that four civic workers of Sirsi city Municipal Council (CMC) are getting chance to tour Singapore. According to the sources, they are just waiting for the final approval of the government to fix the date of journey.

It is said that the State government has planned to take selected civic workers from city corporations, City municipal councils, town panchayats and town municipal councils from across the State on a foreign tour under SCP and TSP schemes for studying solid waste management, cleanliness and sanitation maintenance in that country.

Of  802 workers selected for the tour, four are said to be from Sirsi civic body. Those selected are Annappa Shankar Raja, Masti Rama Bhangi, Dinesh Nanu Harijan and Chandrakanth Gudeangandi.

CMC Comissioner Mahendra Kumar said that we have applied the Passport of four civic workers and CMC itself paid the cost in getting the passport done. Now passports are ready and if everything goes as per plan, they will go to Singapore in the month of May to study the mechanized cleaning methods and its pros and cons”.

Annappa Raja, who has been working as a labour since eleven years, said he only seen Bangalore, apart from Bengaluru, he has not seen any big city of India, but now he has a golden chance to visit Singapore. Other labours also very happy and said that they are lucky to tour the famous touring spot of the world.
