Gangolli: The Police has arrested four persons on the charges of trafficking ganja in an insulated vehicle in the Udupi district on Saturday.

Police that the arrest was made near the mosque at Maravanthe.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Shakir (24, Mohammad Jaffer (32) of Harekala, Alaz (20) of Byndoor and Muhammad Yusuf Saab (45) of Honnavar.

The Gangolli Police who acted on a tip off that ganja was being transported from Bhatkal to Kundapur intercepted the vehicle near Maravanthe. Ganja weighing 20.63 grams and worth Rs 45,000, five mobile phones and the vehicle has been seized.

A case has been registered in this connection by Gangolli police.
