Udupi: Former IPS officer-turned-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhaskar Rao on Tuesday questioned the credibility of the B report filed in connection with Santhosh Patil’s suicide and the clean chit given to former minister K S Eshwarappa.
Rao claimed that the inquiry report was full of flaws.
The suicide act was carried out in response to allegations of 40% commission. As a result, the minister was a prime suspect, he said.
‘Lacked transparency’
The investigation conducted behind closed doors lacked transparency. Even the victim’s wife is seeking justice, he added.
The AAP leader warned that if Eshwarappa is made minister again, AAP leaders will launch a campaign against it.
Members of the BJP are notorious for their obscene and undemocratic behaviour, he charged.
He recollected that when he was appointed as city police commissioner of Bengaluru, there were talks of IPS officer Amrit Paul succeeding him.
“I was from the IPS 1990 batch, Paul was from the 1995 batch. There were many senior IPS officers who were additional DGPs. But Paul was frequently seen at the chief minister’s residence,” he recollected.
‘Corruption patronised’
Rao claimed that political patronage for corruption had rendered both Lokayukta and the ACB toothless.
He said his party will field candidates in all Assembly constituencies.
