Mangaluru/Udupi: The Panambur police arrested five persons who were hatching a conspiracy rob people at Jokatte.

The arrested are Praveen Anil Monteiro (21), Bijin (19), Mawaran alias Mavin (19) and two minor youth. The police have seized two motor cycles, two leathal weapons, three mobile phones, one rope and a packet of chilly powder.

The accused were hatching a conspiracy to waylaid rich persons and throw chilly powder at them before looting them of their valuables.

A case has been registered.
