Bhatkal: More than 110 tonnes of rice were dispensed to the deserving families of Bhatkal, Shirali, Shirur, Honnavar, Kumta, Kirmanjeshwar by the Fitra committee before the commencement of Eid prayers on 6th July, informed the Fitra Committee Convenor Mohammed Ilyas Jakti Nadwi at the Review meeting and Eid Milan programme organised at APS, Bhatkal.

Addressing the audience,  he spoke about the importance of charity and the virtues of looking after the poor and the destitutes. He also commended the Jamaats and other for their contribution. 

The principal of Jamia Islamia Moulana Maqbool Kobatte Nadvi lauded the committee for their efforts.

Khateeb of Tanzeem Milia Jamia Masjid Moulana Mohammed Ansar Nadvi Madani told the committee to extend their help in bringing Muslims closer to Islam.

It is to be noted that the Fitra Committee has been distributing rice among the poor and needy populace since the last 30 years. 

 The programme began with the recitation of few verses from the Holy Quran by Moulana Iqbal. Vice - convenor S M Syed Ahmed Parvez welcomed as well as introduced the guests. Moulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi presided over the function. 

On this occasion, Nauman Ali Akbara, Qamar Sada, Moulana Irshad Africa, C A Muzammil Ruknuddin, Abdus Samee Kola, Ishaq Shabandari,  S M Syed Muhiyuddin Market, Mohammed Meeran Siddique were present.
