Kumta: A borewell truck was engulfed by a fire, on Wednesday, at Madangeri NH66 under Kumta taluk. The fire completely destroyed and turned the truck into ashes.

According to sources, the incident was reported while the construction work for the four lane highway was going on. The fire quickly engulfed the truck but luckily, no one was present in the vehicle during the time of this horrific incident. It is said that the truck belongs to the IRB company.

The fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot as soon as they received the information and were successful in rubbing out the fire, but till then the vehicle had completely turned into ash. 

Observing for safety, traffic movement was stilled for a while.

A case has been registered in Gokarna police station.
