Dubai: A fire broke out in one of the tallest residential towers in Dubai Marina this afternoon.
Residents posted images of Sulafa Tower on fire on social media on Wednesday afternoon at around 3pm.
A firefighter from Dubai Civil Defence confirmed the incident to Gulf News.
“Firefighters are currently working to put the blaze out at the Sulafa Tower in Dubai Marina,” said a Civil Defence spokesperson.
The fire broke out in the 35th floor of the tower, he added.
“We were alerted at 2:48pm. Currently firefighting teams from Al Marsa, Al Barsha, Al Rashidiya and Al Karama are working to put the fire out, he said.
Nora Maki posted on Facebook: “Huge fire in Sulafa Tower in Dubai Marina. Spreading like wildfire across at least 15 floors. Traffic at standstill.”
