Farmers to be paid milk incentive soon

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Union (DKMUL) will remit monetary incentive for November 2016 to January 2017 to dairy farmers shortly, even as it has urged all members to provide their Aadhaar-linked bank account details to respective milk cooperative societies.

In a release here, DKMUL president Raviraj Hegde said that the government incentive of Rs. 4 per litre for August-October 2016 has been paid to milk producers. Producers in Karkala and Sullia taluks have also received incentive of Rs. 4 and Rs. 5 a litre for November-January, while those in Mangaluru, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady, Udupi and Kundapur taulks would be paid soon.

Those farmers who do not get the incentive for want of providing Aadhaar-linked bank account details would be paid the amount as soon as they provide details to the societies concerned, Mr. Hegde said. Societies too have been asked to furnish details of farmers who have not furnished proper account details.

Farmers, who have linked their bank accounts with Aadhaar number, may provide details to DKMUL by calling 0824-2230042, Mr. Hegde added.
