Bhatkal: Dr. Jalaluddin, a famous physician of Bhatkal, passed away this morning. He was 85 years old and had been ill for a long time.

His son Dr. Samiullah said that Dr. Jalaluddin breathed his last at around 5.30 AM. His funeral prayers were offered at Bhatkal Jamia Masjid at noon and his burial took place in the old cemetery of Bhatkal.

Dr. Jalaluddin had been providing medical services in Bhatkal for many decades. He first visited Bhatkal as a medical officer in a government hospital. There, with his medical skills and dexterity, he gained great popularity among the people. He then quit his job at a government hospital and started his own clinic near Marikatta. Dr. Jalaluddin remained very popular in the medical field due to his universal abilities and spirit of service to the people. After running the clinic for a while, he also set up his own hospital on the National Highway by name Nishaat Nursing Home, which is actively providing treatment to patients. The hospital is currently overseen by his son, Dr. Samiullah, and is working to expand its services.

Expressing grief and sorrow over the demise of the doctor, social activists of Bhatkal said that his demise has definitely closed a bright chapter of medical services in Bhatkal.
