Karwar: Excise police raided a house in Karwar on Wednesday and seized lakhs of Goan liquor.

According to sources, based on tip off, excise personnels were waiting for the bottleggers who were carrying illegal liquors on their bikes through Maingini routes in Karwar taluk. The bootleggers, realising that excise police were trying to entrap them, escaped from the spot leaving the liquors and vehicles behind.

Excise police have informed that they have seized huge quantity of liquors worth about 3.18 lakhs. They have also seized their five bikes.
