Bhatkal: Various assistive devices and support materials were distributed to children affected by endosulfan under the Asha Kiran project, implemented by the SKODWES organisation.

Speaking at the distribution programme held at the physiotherapy centre in Belke village, Programme Officer Dr. Narayan Hegde said that the project has been designed to support endosulfan-affected children by providing physiotherapy treatment and special education.

He said the initiative is being implemented by SKODWES in collaboration with Sirsi-based partners and Bengaluru’s Ashraya Hasta Trust. As part of the programme, physiotherapy services are being provided to affected children in Belke, and various essential materials were distributed to beneficiaries.

The items distributed included disability-friendly assistive devices, drawing kits, nutrition kits, protein powder, pain-relief gel, and multivitamin capsules.

Speaking on the occasion, Panduranga Poojari, President of Bhagawan Nityananda Shaktipata Yoga Trust, appreciated the efforts of SKODWES, describing the initiative as commendable.

SKODWES Documentation Officer Sudhir Shetty, Asha Kiran Project Coordinator Surya Gundu, project staff, local elders, and parents were present.
