Kumta: The annual general body meeting of Kumta Muslim Association was held here at Kumta on 27th January, Monday after Isha prayers, where Muhammed Akbar Mulla re-elected as the chief of the association, while Abdul Qayyum elected as the new gen secretary.
Janab Abdullah Shaikh, former general secretary of the association, presented the annual report of the last three years and made it clarified. Further, Janab Abdul Qayyum, an active member of association presented the further aims and objectives of the association, coursers to be carried in the Madrasa-e-Muhammadia etc.
Kumta Muslim Association is the organization serving from last 25 years. This socia-religious organization comes forward in solving the issues that come upon the community, it provides financial support and help for widows, orphans and poors. This committee also plays a prominent role in encouraging the children and youths of the town in the field of education and creating awareness among them. An Islamic learning centre, Madrasa-e-Muhammadia is also run by this committee.
It maybe noted that, Kumta Muslim Association carries 213 common members, in which around 110 members voted for their candidate which resulted approximately 60% of voting.
The 11 members for the newly elected body for next 3 years are Muhammad Akbar Mulla (President), Abdul Shukur Shaikh (Vice-president), Abdul Qayyum Sab (Gen secretary), Yaseen Sab (Joint Secretary), Abdullah Shaikh (Treasurer), Ameen Chitrgi, Hafeezuddin Khateeb, Javeed Khan, Amjad Shaikh, Saleem Qazi, Abdul Hameed Shaikh.
Jamat-Ul-Muslimeen Kumta and Al-Ittihad Youth Committee Kumta congratulated the newly elected office bearers and managing body of Kumta Muslim Association.
