Bhatkal: Bhatkal Tahsildar Ravi Chandra has announced that the election of the President and Vice President for the Town Municipality will be held on November 5.

According to circular issued to the Town Municipal Councilors, the President and Vice President for the next tenure of Bhatkal Town Municipality will be elected on November 5 in a Councillors' meeting. According to the circular, the proceedings will start at 10 AM and will continue till 11:30 AM. It should be noted that these two posts have fallen in the general category this time.

As reported earlier, out of the total 23 councilors of Bhatkal Town Municipal Council, except for three or four councilors, most of the councilors are Tanzeem-backed. On this basis, the candidates fielded by the Tanzeem for the posts of President and Vice-President are almost certain to win.

It may be remembered that it has been decided in the executive meeting of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem to field former Municipal President Parvez Khasimji for the post of President and Qaiser Mohtasham for the post of Vice-President.
