Bhatkal: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with traditional fervour in Bhatkal and other parts of Uttara Kannada, Wednesday.

Muslims offered Eid prayers at Eidgahs and mosques and greeted each other.

Major congregations were witnessed at the Bhatkal Eidgah Maidan, where more than 25,000 Muslims offered eid special prayer which was led by Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadvi.

Police made tight security arrangements for the smooth conduct of Eid prayers.

Deputy Suprintendent of Police Valentine D'Souza, who inspected the arrangements, conveyed his greetings on the occasion.
