Sirsi: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde has stated that the Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande has another name called ‘Percentage Pande’ in a different sector.
He (R V Deshpande) has not restricted himself from taking commission even in the construction of wells and sapling plantation, he chided.
He noted this while speaking during the party joining ceremony of Dasanakoppa gram panchayat members Nataraj Hosur, Radha
Malladadavar, at a programme organised at Danaganahalli in the taluk on Wednesday.
He said, so far, Congress party has only done percentage business, and hence, people have rejected that party.
There is not even a single cinema theatre at Amethi Constituency in Uttar Pradesh, from where the Gandhi family members are being elected from last seven decades. However, in Sirsi town, there were three theatres before 35 years, he said and added that there is not a good hospital in Amethi and farmers of that constituency do not know anything about pump sets also.
“If you elect Congress to power, the same situation
may come to you too,” he warned.
More than 20 people joined BJP on the occasion. Former MLA V S Patil, taluk panchayat vice-president Chandru Devadiga, taluk panchayat member Lata Naik, Krishna Esale and others were present.

Hegde stoops lower, targets Rahul Gandhi’s caste identity
Sirsi: Union Minister Ananthkumar Hegde kicked up yet another controversy and this time his target was Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his religious/caste identity. He called Gandhi a “hybrid product that can be found only in Congress laboratory”. He said Gandhi claims to be a Brahmin “despite being born to a Muslim father and a Christian mother”.
At a programme held at Danaganahalli village in Sirsi taluk on Wednesday, the BJP leader questioned the religion of the NehruGandhi family. “Rahul Gandhi speaks about Rafale. Does he even know the spelling of it?” he said. “Rahul thinks Rafale means a tricycle as an aircraft has three wheels. Maybe he does not know the difference,” Hegde said.
The minister said Congress and other parties which are in to Mahagathbandhan will commit mass suicide after their defeat in the upcoming elections. “People in Amethi have already started telling Rahul Gandhi to ‘go back to Italy’, which is sign of Cong ress defeat,” he said.
He also did not spare state Revenue Minister R V Deshpande, accusing him of indulging in corruption. “Deshpande laid foundation stone for development works before state assembly elections and now the work is stalled,” Hegde, who represents Uttara Kannada constituency in the Lok Sabha, said.
