Karwar: The old building of Karwar fish market, which had gone ruined was demolished in the early hours of 24th April, Monday, under the supervision of higher authorities.

Even though there were many traders opposing the drive, the demolition carried under high vigil security. 

Sources say, traders who opposed it had previously brought stay order from court. But, as soon as the stay period concluded, the demolition drive was carried on.

In order to uphold the situation peacefully, tight security from police personnel was seen during the drive. City muncipality has also said that, many buildings in this part which belongs to muncipality that have gone ruin, will be cleared soon and a huge multi storeyed shopping complex will be brought up.
