Bhatkal: Muhammed Nawaz S/o Aslam Malpa (20), who was seriously injured in a car accident near Kitre, Sagar road, breathed his last at a private hospital in Udupi, at around 2.00 pm on Saturday.

According to sources, he was seriously injured after the accident which occurred at 4: 30 am in the morning, when he, along with four of his friends were driving on the Sagar road.

The incident occurred when their car lost control and rammed into a tree. Saifan Kad-dari (19), who was driving the car, died on the spot while Nawaz was seriously injured.

Nawaz was immediately transferred to a private hospital in Udupi but succumbed to his injuries today at noon.

Both Nawaz and Saifan lived in Madeena Colony, Bhatkal.  They were traveling home from Mavingundi, after visiting Honnavar. Saifan’s burial took place at Nawayath Colony, Bhatkal, soon after the Zohar prayers. His funeral was attended by hundreds of people, including his friends and relatives.

Nawaz’s body is being brought to Bhatkal were the post mortem will be conducted at the Bhatkal Government Hospital on 7.30 PM  after which the funeral will be held.
