Puttur: A man, who worked in a Mumbai hotel and had returned hometown to Kallare, was admitted to the isolation ward at the government hospital after locals suspected he might be infected for coronavirus.

Police said that the man had returned on Sunday and was found roaming on the streets of the village when locals informed the Assistant Commissioner. Later, a team of officials, comprising Assistant Commissioner, Tahsildar and Health officers visited his house on Monday to inquire the matter. The man had told that he was screened in Mumbai.

He was later examined at the Puttur government hospital. It is learnt that he has no symptoms of coronavirus. Still, as a precautionary measure he has been kept in the isolation ward.
