Mangaluru: In a tweet on Friday, Karnataka Minister incharge of Dakshina Kannada district Kota Srinivas Poojary announced that the State’s Finance Department has approved to waive off loans of fishermen.

About Rs 60 crore amount of loan given to 23,000 fishermen have been waived off by the department, the tweet read.

Poojary expressed thanks to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and BJP Karnataka President Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, on behalf of the State’s fishermen in the tweet.
