Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner on Thursday declared the area surrounding the First Neuro Hospital as a containment zone after a 75-year-old woman from Bantwa, taluk tested positive for coronavirus.
The woman, mother-in-law of the deceased COVID-19 patient from Bantwal was being treated at First Neuro Hospital after she suffered a stroke on April 18. She was later shifted to the isolation ward of Wenlock hospital.
Accordingly the areas surrounding the First Neuro Hospital at Padil, i.e Kannagudde on the eastern side, Ramanath Kripa rice mill on the west, Bengaluru National Highway 73 to the north and the Cantonment area around the government area to the south have been declared as containment zone.
