Covid-19 regulations tightened in Udupi

Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said that due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases, rules and regulations to contain Covid-19 will be strictly adhered to.

Number of people permitted to gather at religious and social functions will be restricted. He instructed the officials to execute the protocols introduced by the government effectively. The officials should ensure that the restrictions are followed.

Offline classes for first standard to ninth standard students, including Vidyagama, had been banned. Only exams for classes from 10 to 12 will be permitted. Only medical colleges are permitted to hold classes. Religious institutions can permit personal prayers and not mass gathering. Gyms, club houses and swimming pools will remain shut. Protests and rallies will not be permitted.

Public transport should restrict number of seats. Only 50 per cent should be accommodated in party halls, theatres and restaurants. Social distancing, masks and hygiene should be top priority. The restrictions will be in place till April 20, he added and said violations will be dealt with stringently.
