Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao has said that people from Kerala entering Udupi district will have to produce a Covid negative report not older than 72 hours.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said even those who produce negative RT-PCR reports will have to undergo a one-week institutional quarantine compulsorily and then again undergo Covid test. Though even people from Maharashtra too have to produce a Covid negative report, they however need not undergo quarantine, the DC said.
The DC said weekend curfew has been imposed in the district as per the instructions of the government. He said the positivity rate in the district was 1.27 which was high when compared to the positivity rate of the state.
