Bhatkal: A 44-Year-Old man with travel history to Maharashtra was tested positive for novel Coronavirus on Friday in Honnavar.

Sources said that the man belonged to Manki in the taluk, but he was quarantined at a Hotel in Honnavar, and his throat swab samples were sent for testing. The man is said to have come from Mumbai with his wife and a 2.5 years old son. The reports of his wife and son has not been released yet, but the 44-year-old man's report has been confirmed to be COVID-19 positive.

With today's fresh case, the number of Corona victims in Honnavar taluka has increased to six, while in Uttara Kannada district the number has increased to 62 with 11 recoveries. Thus, the number of active cases is now 51.

It is to be noted that among the nine Corona positive cases that came to light in Sirsi yesterday, two of them were from Udupi, who were also shifted to KIMS Karwar. But as they belong to Udupi, their names have been included in the list of Udupi district's Corona affected victims and have been removed from the list of Uttara Kannada district. Hence, the number of Coronavirus infected patients in Uttara Kannada now tallies 62.
