Mangaluru:  Dakshina Kannada SDPI district general secretary Jamal Jokatte said that the district administration and the police should set up a special task force to prevent anti-social elements of Hindutva organisations from being engaged in acts of goondaism in the district.

The Hindu organisations have been targeting innocents from minority community, he charged. The miscreants had assaulted youth for moving around with their interfaith friends. “The series of incidents in the district remind us of lynching incidents in Uttar Pradesh and Jarkhand,” Jokatte said.

He urged police to arrest the main culprits behind all these organised incidents and initiate strict action against them under the various Sections of IPC. The deputy commissioner, police commissioner and the SP should stop anti-social elements from carrying out untoward incidents in the district by constituting a special task force.
