Karwar:  Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D K Shivakumar on Saturday urged the State government to order a high level investigation into alleged attempt to commit suicide by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's Political Secretary N R Santosh.

Addressing the press today, he said that this is a serious issue and he has information that a Minister and MLC were blackmailing him (Santosh). He felt that this issue needs to be probed thoroughly.

Shivkumar alleged that he had information that a Minister used a video and threatened Santosh and sent the video to central BJP leaders also. He said that the public should know the truth about this incident.

Referring to the BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel's remarks that former chief minister Siddaramiah's government completed it's five year term with the help of the drug mafia, he said that there is something wrong with Kateel, and he should be tested in hospital.

He said that Kateel's remarks shows "his culture and his status."

Sivakumar stated that he has undertaken a State tour for strengthening the party as the Gram Panchayat, taluk and zilla Panchayat elections are round the corner.

He expressed his optimism regarding his party's chances in the local body elections.
