Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Thursday alleged that Congress is trying to politicize the Mysore Gang -rape incident for gaining mileage from the incident.
Addressing media persons here today Home Minister Mr Jnanendra said “The rape happened in Mysuru but Congress trying to
gain political mileage from the incident. It was an inhuman incident.
The girl and her friend must have gone to a deserted place there, they should not have gone there,” he said.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar slammed the remarks made by Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and said "I seek an answer from BJP leaders (over the comments made).
If the Home Minister says that Congress is raping him, what does it reflect about administration in the state? A case should be filed under IPC section 376 against any Congress leader who try to rape the Karnataka Home minister ', he said.
Mr Shivakumar said that the Congress party was concerned about the image of Karnataka, and accused the Home Minister of divulging the identity of the victim by disclosing the whereabouts of her parents and relatives.
