Mangaluru: Congress has strongly condemned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on repeated attacks and hate crimes against Indians in United States.

Addressing media persons in the city on 6th March, Monday, B K Hariprasad, AICC general secretary, said that Modi has proved that election campaign is more important for him than the lives of Indians.
"Prior to the demonetisation, the Prime Minister has been speaking against terrorism. It is unfortunate that our soldiers are being killed on the borders every day, but the Prime Minister is silent,” he said.
“Two Indians have been killed and three have been attacked in the US recently, but Modi was busy campaigning for the party in Uttar Pradesh,” he lamented.

“The BJP government is completing three years. Did they bring black money back? Did they stop corruption? They are silent even when an RSS leader announced Rs 1 crore bounty on Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's head at a programme attended by a BJP minister. It is the height of cowardice," Hariprasad said, adding that the issue will be taken up at the continued budget session in the Parliament.

Further commending the Congress government in Karnataka, Hariprasad said that chief minister Siddaramaiah has wide popularity in the state for introducing several pro-people schemes. "Siddaramaiah is successful in maintaining law and order, communal harmony and implementing schemes for welfare of the poor. People of the state will re-elect Congress. Yeddyurappa has been building a castle in the air by declaring himself as chief minister," he ridiculed.
