Mangaluru: Congress leaders by alleging that CBI raids on the residences of KPCC President D K Shivakumar were politically motivated, have ended up admitting that CBI was manipulated to intimidate political opponents in the past, state BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel said while taking potshots at the Congress.

Nalin on Monday tweeted that the CBI collects evidence before raiding the residence or business establishment of individuals.

If Congress, which has ruled the country for 70 years does not know this fact, it means that they  used to manipulate the CBI and practice vengeance politics against their political opponents, he added.

Independent entities like Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) are already investigating the illegal wealth amassed by D K Shivakumar. These investigations are in different stages, he said.

“Instead of cooperating with the CBI, is it right to have let his supporters attack the vehicles of CBI officers?” asked Kateel.

The support given by national leaders to D K Shivakumar means that they are indirectly supporting his illegal means of amassing property. It shows that the Congress leaders also had a share in t he illegal wealth accumulated by Shivakumar, he charged in his tweets.
