Udupi: In a collision between two bikes near petrol bunk at Indrali here, the pillion rider of one of the motor bikes died, that happened on 1st September, Friday.
The deceased pillion rider is identified as Bhaskar S Shetty (67 yrs), a resident of Nadiktrebettu, Ninjoor in Karkala.
According to the sources, Bhaskar had come to the city for some work and was riding pillion in his son’s bike. The accident occurred when a motor bike rider took an immediate turn without giving any signal of his intention to do so, near the petrol bunk.
Due to the collision, Bhaskar sustained severe injuries to his head and breathed his last at a private hospital in Manipal sometime later.
His son Prathviraj, who was riding the bike was also injured in the accident and is being treated at the hospital.
A case about the accident was registered in Manipal police station.
