Police have started strictly implementing the night curfew imposed to check the spread of a second wave of coronavirus infection within the police commissionerate from Saturday night.
Police sources said all vehicles plying after 10 PM were checked and the unnecessary movement of people was brought under control during the curfew hours between 10 PM and 5 AM.

A labourer hailing from Bagalkot district was found dead near the railway track at Baikampady here Monday morning, police sources said.

An eight-member gang has been arrested for planning to rob travellers on highways in Dakshina Kannada district, police said on Monday.
Addressing reporters here, city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the armed robbers were arrested on Sunday from Parari in Ulaibettu village when they were trying to stop vehicles. The arrested were in the age group of 25-35, the police chief said.
