Rockets struck a neighborhood near Kabul's international airport on Monday amid the ongoing US withdrawal from Afghanistan. It wasn't immediately clear who launched them.

A Muslim scrap dealer was allegedly threatened and forced to chant ''Jai Shri Ram'' by two men at a village in Madhya Pradesh''s Ujjain district, following which the police have arrested the accused duo, an official said on Sunday.

India saw a single-day rise of 42,909 new COVID-19 infections, which took the total tally of cases to 3,27,37,939, while active cases registered an increase for the sixth consecutive day, according to Union health ministry data updated on Monday.

As many as 619 villages across 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been affected by floods, said the state government on Sunday.
According to official data, six rivers, including Ghaghara, Rapti, Budhi Rapti, Kanhar, Rohini and Kuwano rivers are flowing above the danger level and 148 villages have been cut off from the main roads.

Indian shooter Avani Lekhara created history by winning the gold medal at Asaka Shooting Range in the women's R2 -- 10m Air Rifle standing SH1 event on Monday.
