    Bengal post-poll violence: HC asks CBI to file progress report on probe in December

    The Calcutta High Court on Monday directed the CBI to file a progress report on its investigation on alleged post-poll violence in West Bengal on the next date of hearing in December. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Justice I P Mukerji also said victims of the violence would have to file appropriate applications to seek compensation.

    The Supreme Court Monday permitted all eligible Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) candidates to participate in general category NEET counselling for undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses.     India logged 10,126 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 266 days, while the active cases dipped to 1,40,638, the lowest in 263 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.
