BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s eldest son Rakesh has been hospitalised in Belgium after he reportedly developed complications in the functioning of the pancreas.
Rakesh, who was on a tour of Belgium and France with his friends, has been admitted at the University of Brussels Hospital and Siddaramaiah is rushing to the hospital on Thursday morning.
“Rakesh’s condition is stable and he is responding to treatment,” Siddaramaiah said here on Wednesday.
Siddaramaiah spoke to External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj immediately on receiving the news about Rakesh’s health and requested Swaraj to instruct Indian embassy officials in Belgium to make necessary arrangements for best medical assistance.
Rakesh, who had tried his hand in Sandalwood (Kannada film industry) is now nursing the Varuna Assembly constituency which is presently represented by his father. He is being seen as the next Congress candidate to contest from Varuna.
