Karwar: According to Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugailin, precautionary measures have been tightened in Uttara Kannada District following the second wave of Coronavirus, with nine check posts set up at various places.
Deputy Commissioner said that check posts have been set up in inter-state border areas and densely populated areas like Majali, Chittakul, Ramnagar, Gokarna, Kumta, Murdeshwar and Bhatkal. The state government has made it mandatory for those coming from Kerala and Maharashtra to bring an RT-PCR negative report. Therefore, these instructions are being strictly followed. Those coming from other states will be medically screened. And those whose reports are recieved as positive, will be hospitalized for treatment.
Instructions have been issued to all Tahsildars and Police Department officers to remain active and take steps in this regard. In addition, instructions have been given to deploy Revenue and Police Department personnel at check posts, he added.
