Chain snatcher arrested in Sirsi

Sirsi: The Sirsi police have nabbed a man who was involved in snatching a chain and other ornaments from woman, and have confiscated gold worth 1 lakh rupees from the accused possession.

The accused is identified as Govind Gowda, 40, a resident of Maasur in Kumta taluk.

Sources said that the accused used to attack women and flee by snatching gold necklaces and ornaments from them.

From the accused, the police have seized a two-wheeler worth 25,000 rupees, gold rings worth 7000 rupees, necklace of 42,000 rupees and a 'Mangal sutra' worth 52,000 rupees.

It shall be remembered, on 12th February,  the accused had fled after snatching a chain from woman on. A case was registered in Sirsi market police station following the incident.
