Mundgod: A 25-year-old bike rider died on the spot and pillion rider was seriously injured, in an accident between the bike on which they were riding and a Scorpio vehicle, near Shinganalli in the taluk on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Munaf Ashpak Mangasule, a resident of Jagalpete near Dandeli.

The injured pillion rider has been identified as Rameeza (19), wife of Munaf.

After the incident, Rameeza has been admitted to Karnataka Institue of Medical Sciences (KIMS), at Hubballi, where she is undergoing treatment.

It is said that Munaf and Rameeza had entered a wed-lock just before a week.

A case has been registered at Mundgod Police Station.
