Udupi:  A 65-year-old woman was killed after she was knocked down by a speeding Maruti Omni here at NH-66 in Manur village in Kota. The incident took place on 8th April, Saturday.

According to police, Vanaja Shetty was crossing the national highway, when the speeding vehicle plying towards Udupi from Kundapur hit her. Preparations were all made to shift her to hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries on the way. 

A case has been registered in Kota police station and further investigations are carried on.
